1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
3 3/4 cups of flour
3 3/4 cups of flour
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 TBSP sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Cream butter or margarine for 30 seconds. Add 2 cups sugar and beat until fluffy. Then add the eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix until nice and creamy. Then add dry ingredients and mix until well combined. (Sometimes I let the dough chill in the refrigerator for an hour or two.) Form dough into 1 inch balls and roll in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 9 -10 minutes depending on your oven. You want it just barely cooked through, not doughy in the middle, but not over-cooked.
Seriously folks, these are the BEST snickerdoodles I have ever tried. They are so soft. My sister-in-law, Kristine, brought these to a family dinner and I ate too many. Then I brought some home and ate more. Try this recipe!
